12 mozzarella sticks

12 slices of bacon

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

2 tablespoons Nashville hot chicken seasoning (or to taste)

Oil for frying

Begin by preheating your oven to 200°C (400°F). Prepare a baking sheet lined with paper towels to drain the bacon-wrapped sticks after frying.

    Wrap each mozzarella stick tightly with a slice of bacon, ensuring the cheese is completely covered. Secure the ends of the bacon with toothpicks if needed.

      Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one shallow dish, the beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of breadcrumbs and Nashville hot chicken seasoning in a third dish.

        Take each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick and first dredge it in the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

          Next, dip the floured stick into the beaten eggs, coating thoroughly before transferring it to the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.

            Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 180°C (350°F). Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches, frying them for about 2-3 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.

              Using a slotted spoon, remove the sticks from the oil and place them on the prepared baking sheet to drain excess oil. Optionally, sprinkle with additional Nashville hot seasoning for extra heat.
