1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup milk

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round 9-inch cake pan and pour the caramel sauce evenly on the bottom.

    In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

      In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

        Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.

          In a separate bowl, blend the sweetened condensed milk and cream cheese until creamy and smooth.

            Pour the chocolate batter over the caramel sauce in the prepared cake pan. Then, gently pour the cream cheese mixture on top of the chocolate batter. Do not mix, as the cream cheese layer will float to the top during baking.

              Cover the cake pan with aluminum foil and place it in a larger baking pan filled with hot water (this is a water bath).

                Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

                  Once baked, remove the pan from the water bath and let it cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

                    To serve, carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate to reveal the caramel layer on top.
