150g shredded cheese (like Gruyère, Emmental, or Cheddar)

Anleitungen

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Prepare Croissants: Carefully slice each croissant in half horizontally without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket.

Add Mustard: Spread Dijon mustard inside each pocket for extra flavor.

Layer the Ham: Place slices of ham generously on the bottom half of each croissant.

Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the ham, ensuring it's evenly distributed.

Season: Sprinkle a pinch of dried thyme or rosemary and freshly ground black pepper on top of the cheese for added flavor.

Close Croissants: Gently close each croissant so that the fillings are secure inside.

Brush with Butter: Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with melted butter for a golden crust.

Prepare Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg and gently brush the tops of the croissants to give them a shiny finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Cool Slightly: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

                        Prep Time: 15 Minuten | Total Time: 35 Minuten | Servings: 4

                          - Presentation Tips: Serve warm on a large platter, with some fresh herbs or a side of mixed greens for color. Consider adding a small dish of mustard for dipping on the side.
